It’s one of the tough time in starting a fitness program. You finally begin to see great results and suddenly they stop no matter what you try. It’s extemely frustrating because initially for a couple months, everything is going great and you are losing inches of fat, but out of nowhere this plateau occurs and causes lots of doubt. So let’s look at some reasons why this maybe be happening and what you can do about it.
First, you might need to change your exercises to lose weight around. If you have been weight training for a few months straight, even with different workouts, I’m going to suggest you take the next month off. This presents a great opportunity to do some interval training and circuit training workout plans. These workouts are considerably shorting but they are very intenese. They will also help to through your body out of sync and help you burn more fat so you can kick that plateau.
Second, you might need to pay extra special attention to your diet and really keep a journal of everything you eat. While you eat healthy overall right now, you might find that you have been snacking at a certain part of the day and these little snacks can really add up.
Third, you might be putting on new lean muscle and that would stop the scale from going down. It’s important to know that lean muscle weighs more than body fat so if you are putting new muscle on then your weight will not go down. I recommend you get rid of your scale as fast as your can and just use a body fat scale. Seeing your body fat number go down is a much better metric.
Finally, I don’t want to rule out the possibility that it could be some more serious in which case you should see a doctor. Give these suggestions a try and I bet one or many will really work for you. Keep your exercises to lose weight changing on a consistent basis and above all remember to have fun when you workout.
